Who we are
DEED is one of a network of 45 accredited Development Education Centres across the UK and a member of the Development Education Association .
Development Education seeks to explore the links between our own lives and those of people throughout the world, recognising ways in which we are all dependent on each other, pointing out the reasons for inequalities in the world at all levels, and helping people tackle these inequalities in their own everyday lives and actions.
DEED is a registered charity (no.1072827) and Company Limited By Guarantee (no.3646475) and receives project funding from a variety of sources, in particular DFID (the Department for International Development), Heritage Lottery Fund, Unicef, Borough of Poole, Dorset County Council, Bournemouth Borough Council,
Poole SCITT, Dorset Teacher Training Partnership and Bournemouth & East Dorset SCITT
What we offer
DEED offers Training, Workshops, Advice, Support and Resources to Schools, Early Years Settings, Bournemouth University and Community Groups on all aspects of global citizenship, including equality and diversity, sustainable development and social justice
DEED works with teachers, students and other education providers in promoting a global dimension in the curriculum.
DEED has an extensive collection of books, activity packs, artefacts and instruments available for loan through our resource base centre in Poole.
A range of DEED and other publications are also available for sale, all of which provide support, activities and ideas on how to introduce and embed the global dimension into the school curriculum.
